a quick mod note
this community is under new moderation! it exists so that people can freely play characters with personalities you don't see in pb very often. be creative, write, interact and most importantly be friendly to everyone in the community. before going forward you must read this information.

setting up usernames ooc usernames are required. your username doesn't have to be related to the fictional character your playing if you don't have those available. you can use the journals linked in the resources to find one if needed.

character information doesn't have to be substantial. 150 (minimum) words on their history and personality and compile the basics: name (please link a wiki page for your character with your info), age, occupation, hometown, where they live now et cetera.

an in character and out of character post is needed. you should be familiar with what both of these are. please backdate and make sure we can see them both when you apply.

examples examples are not required since we are requesting 150 (minimum) words on your character. however, we are going to be rejecting applicants if we feel they do not fit the community. we won't be answering questions on rejections no matter what. please do not ask.

 being active
intros we're not the biggest fan of intros but we understand the purpose they provide. instead of the traditional intro format, we are requesting that people post their first update in the main community. it can be a social media post, narrative, playlist, moodboard. either way, you'll be required to show yourself within 72 hours. the usual rules apply when introducing yourself: reply to everyone, comment around.

activity cycles the cali activity cycle starts on the first of every month and ends on the last day. you must post on the fp twice between that time. we do want to see narratives on the fp for at least one of those updates, but we understand that this can't always be the case. we're all adults and sometimes we don't have time. instead we've decided you can update with whatever you want whether or not it's two narratives for the month, two interactive posts... two whatever. you can post narratives, instagram updates, plot posts, playlists, interactive social media, etc.

activity checks & your flist every community eventually has to deal with dead weight, it's just a part of the hobby. we will try to have mid-month checks when we feel we have more dead weight than we should. be warned, they'll pop up and be up for at least 4 days. if you are unable to pay attention over that timespan just let us know so that you don't miss one and get removed. you should not have out of date flists more than 7 days. if it's out of date that long or more we will assume you've died off and remove you so update as often as you can.

activities we fully believe that people are more motivated to write narratives and come up with creative updates when they're challenged. so we made our update rules lax because we believe more people will write if we provide narrative challenges and other activities on the fp. we will revisit this in the future if we feel the fp is nothing but instagram/social media updates. we like those too but we want balance.

 the rest
tinder like every community we allow this but we'll be following suit in keeping tinder profiles off the fp. we will be borrowing the tinder community concept so be sure to read the guidelines in that community before posting a tinder profile.

wire, discord, off-site apps we want cali to be a fp/journal oriented community. we want people that are eager to comment intros, be active in customs and make everyone feel wanted and appreciated. we strongly discourage the use and promotion of wire, discord, and other messaging apps. we understand that there are times of the day where wire is just easier for some people, but not everyone can have wire. if you want to use it, we get it, but use it at your own risk because we reserve the right to remove anyone that exclusively uses wire. if you're never commenting intros, interactive posts, plot posts or making new connections ic we're just going to assume. put the fp first and you won't have any issues.
